Tomahawk Railway

The Tomahawk Railway has a colorful past that goes back to 1891 when it was created under the name "Wisconsin & Chippewa Railroad". After going through many change of name, it is now own by Genesee & Wyoming Inc. since 2005.
They own about 6 miles of tracks yet, a huge warehouse in Tomahawk, Wisconsin and they own over 4500 train cars of all kind. In Montreal, we mostly see boxcars though.
For a long time, I thought that this railroad belong to Canadian National, since I would see these cars on CN trains, but the reason for this is the simple fact that this railroad connect with the CN railroad at Tomahawk.
La compagnie "Tomahawk Railway" a un passé assez coloré qui va jusqu'à 1891 lors de sa création sous le nom de "Wisconsin & Chippewa Railroad". Après avoir eu plusieurs changements de noms, elle est maintenant la propriété de by Genesee & Wyoming Inc depuis 2005.
La compagnie possède environ 10 km de voies ferrées, un immense entrepôt à Tomahawk, Wisconsin et possède plus de 4500 wagons de tous genres. À Montréal, nous voyons passé surtout des wagons couverts.
J'ai cru, pendant longtemps, que cette compagnie était la propriété du Canadien National parce que je voyais souvent ces wagons sur des convois du CN. La raison est simple, les voies du Tomahawk Railway connectent avec celles du Canadien National à Tomahawk.
